About this piece
Rock Lobster is a bold hand-printed linocut inspired by the distinctive form of the rock lobster. Its strong lines and vibrant colour give the piece a simple, graphic quality with a natural connection to the sea and coast.
Natalie begins with her own drawing before transferring the design to lino and carving the image by hand. Each impression is then individually printed using a hand press and artist-quality Charbonnel ink on 160 gsm A4 paper.
Because every impression is printed by hand, small variations in colour, tone and impression are natural. These subtle differences are part of the character of the printmaking process and make each print individually produced.
Rock Lobster is produced as a limited edition of 100 and is supplied unframed. It also works naturally as a companion to Red Lobster, which is available separately.
Packaging
Each print is protected in a vegetable-based, eco-friendly cellophane wrapper and posted in a recycled cardboard envelope.
