About this piece
Pink Flamingo (Retro) is a playful hand-printed linocut featuring a flamingo with a distinctive retro character. Its simplified forms, clean lines and contrasting colours give the composition a bold, graphic quality.
Natalie begins with her own drawing before transferring the design to lino and carving it by hand. For this artwork, she uses a jigsaw printmaking technique to produce the two-colour design. Each impression is individually printed using a hand press and artist-quality Charbonnel ink on 160 gsm A4 paper.
Because every impression is printed by hand, subtle variations in colour, tone and impression are natural. These differences form part of the character of the printmaking process and make each impression individually produced.

Packaging
Each print is protected in a vegetable-based, eco-friendly cellophane wrapper and posted in a recycled cardboard envelope.
