Grévy's, Plains, Mountain

Mountain, Plains, Grévy's brings together the world's three living zebra species in a limited-edition linocut triptych. Grévy's, Plains and Mountain zebras are each represented in an individual hand-printed work, creating a set of three complementary prints.

The choice of subject also reflects the increasingly vulnerable position of these distinctive animals, with zebra populations facing varying levels of threat and conservation concern.

Natalie begins each piece by drawing the image before transferring the design to lino and carving it by hand. Each print is then individually printed using a hand press and artist-quality Charbonnel ink on 160 gsm A4 paper.

Because every impression is printed by hand, small variations in colour, tone and impression are natural. Rather than being defects, these subtle differences are part of the character of the printmaking process and mean that every set is individually produced.

Mountain, Plains, Grévy's is produced as a limited edition of 40. Each purchase includes all three zebra prints and the set is supplied unframed.
